With a population of 16, this District kicks up a storm of funk and R&B when they crowd onto the bandstand. Comprised of young musicians from Victoria's West Shore and led by saxophonist Glenn Whitney, the District of Soul does Motown to the max thanks to a big horn section and some serious talent all around. They have been seen rocking Jazzfest, Blues Bash, New Years events, as well as many community and corporate events. From Aretha Franklin to Chicago, they blast fresh energy and life into soul and classic grooves.

"Soul Food", an evening with the District of Soul for Westsong Community Church. Great desserts and music. All welcome. The Forge Church, 2612 Sooke Rd (near Jacklin Road).

Dec 31, 2008 - (6:30-9:30pm)
New Years Eve at Panorama Leisure Centre. A family event with many activities for children, plus entertainment by the District of Soul.
